Another workout night with Team in Training, another fun night at Zito's Sandwich Shoppe. These guys have been great to us - if you haven't already tried one of their fantastic sandwiches... Go!

July 26, 2012 - Sunset and Suds (and Storm)

This is from just before running a 5K Team in Training fundraiser up in Riverside park. I guess it's an annual race named for the time of day (Sunset) and the draw (Suds aka free beer!) This year, however, we had the added bonus of some crazy weather (Storm) that was scheduled to hit right around the time of the event.

It turned out to be pretty intense. I managed to finish running just before the rain hit, but within about ten minutes is was absolutely pouring. I was standing in a tent structure set-up over an outside bar (unfortunately not where the free beer was,) and I ended up helping to hold it down from blowing away (while a lot of other people crouched under the bar.) After another ten minutes or so it let up enough for me to leave the tent and find the nice, dry, place where they were handing out beer. During my second beer, the rain had pretty much stopped, so I made my way to the train with a bunch of other Brooklyn folk and we grabbed some dinner when we got to Park Slope. All in all, a fun & very wet adventure!

June 16, 2012 - First Group Training

The first official Saturday Group Training Session for the new TNT season. It was more of a welcome and introduction than a run, but it was great to see all the people gathered together.

After I finished practice, I met up with Tom and some friends from DC (Stacey, Eric, Gigi, and Mimi) who were over at the Prospect Park carousel. It was a beautiful day and we had a fun time enjoying a lovely Saturday afternoon in the park.

May 29, 2012 - Two Boots!

Another TnT group practice... another social event! This time we took over the back room of Two Boots Brooklyn for pizza & beer (both well deserved after a very sweaty workout.) Delicious!!

February 26, 2011 - Al Gordon Classic

The Al Gordon classic is a 4-mile race in Prospect Park & has basically been the true start of my running season the past couple years. It's pretty much a no-brainer for me in terms of registering... the park is pretty much in my backyard and I've run the course more times than I can count.

Once again, it was a fun run & I loved seeing some of my old Team in Training teammates before the race (go team!)

It's a post-Team-In-Training Taco fest!!! I'm tired, but happy!

Even though I'm running for a really great cause, guilt free enjoyment of this is a pretty good reason to run a 10 mile race in the rain!

My new TNT season officially starts next week, but we've been doing some "pre-training" runs in the park for the past month. Go Team!

Post-finish at the Scotland Run 10K in Central Park. During last year's run there was crazy monsoon-like rain, but this year we had a beautiful day!

March 21, 2010

This is my good friend Sean with his NYC Half-Marathon finisher medal! He and I ran it this morning with 11,941 other people (so I have one too!!) The race is basically a loop of Central Park, down 7th Ave to Times Square, across 42nd Street to the West Side Highway and then down to the finish line at the World Financial Center. It was just about a perfect day to run and a lot of fun!

Outside the 168th Armory with about 5,600 other folk getting ready to run the Coogan's Salsa, Blues & Shamrocks 5K. A super fun race with music along the whole course (and green bagels at the end!)

My first NYRR race of 2010 - the Al Gordon Classic in Prospect Park. It was a little cold - but still felt great!
