Twice a year, the sun sets directly aligned to the city streets for the event known as... Manhattanhenge! (FYI, the street I was on was not blocked off. Everybody just ran out between the lights and took pictures like crazy!!)
So... I was walking by this restaurant and saw the "help wanted" sign. I thought it was funny since it doesn't really meet EEO standards and wouldn't fly in most places. Then I saw the customers and thought maybe they put it up themselves.
I made DELICIOUS chicken with tomatoes, parsley & garlic. The plate looks kind of sloppy because this was actually my 2nd helping of food (that's how good it was!)
FLASHBACK PHOTO - I took a picture of this REAL magazine cover on 5/18 last year, but it's worth celebrating again for its sheer brilliance (and also because I ended up without any new pictures for another Tuesday - what's up with that?)
The dogs spotted a cat down the block and this was about a second before they decided they wanted to try and catch it. The picture is not so great, and I had to make some adjustments to the exposure since it was so dark, but trust me when I say it was an exciting moment and I didn't have time for another shot!
No - it's not just a cool perspective trick that is making my margarita look so big... it really was kind of obscene. I had a GREAT afternoon in Ft. Lauderdale!
I flew to Miami for my friend Willy's birthday and took the Tri-Rail train from the airport up to Ft. Lauderdale where I was staying thinking it would be faster, easier, and cheaper than a cab the whole way. It worked perfectly, but my friends who live or are from the area all asked me afterwards, "Who knew there was a train?"
Another post-work event, this time near the office at Vintry Wine & Whiskey. Yes... a whiskey bar! When you order a bourbon, they give you a little pitcher of water and a glass of ice with the drink in a separate glass so you can accessorize however you like... this is how I like it!
Tom, our friend Christa, and I had a fun dinner at Centro Vinoteca. The picture isn't much (and you can't tell that we had an AWESOME corner booth that I like to think of as a "player" table) - but it's the only shot I took.
FLASHBACK PHOTO - despite going to two post-work functions (one for work, and one for Team in Training,) I somehow forgot to take any pictures. Soooo... you get one of my all-time-most-favorite-ever pictures. From May, 2008 - Tom & Huckleberry.
Goose family! I had to take a picture of them crossing the Vonage office parking lot when I was there for a meeting... I was scared to get any closer because the big one in the rear kept giving me dirty looks.
Yay - we finally had a garage sale! This was our old dining room table and chairs about to drive away. Tom teased me about letting it go too cheaply, but we're both glad it isn't sitting in the garage right now!
