September 13, 2012 - Coney Island Ave

Just a shot of CIA as we walked home from dinner.

September 12, 2012 - Awesome Bag

I spotted someone rocking this cool bag on the subway and just had to take a picture!

September 11, 2012 - Safety Shot

I was riding the bus and realized I hadn't taken a photo yet - so I took one!

September 10, 2012 - Sleepy Foxy

She's so pretty.

September 9, 2012 - Jumbotron Action

Tom & I were in Times Square to see "Broadway on Broadway" and managed to spot ourselves on the Jumbotron as a camera panned the crowd - yay!

September 8, 2012 - Family Vet Day

We took all four dogs in for annual checkups... it actually went pretty smoothly all things considered. All the dogs were in generally good shape - but we agreed to bring Howard & Huckleberry back for teeth cleaning.

September 7, 2012 - My Pal Scrappy

He won't leave my side when I'm home - awwww!

September 6, 2012 - A Visitor in the Garden

Hard to see, but in the very center of the photo is a special visitor that Foxy was desperate to "meet."

September 5, 2012 - Return to the Cyclones

For a second time in one summer - I made out to Coney Island for another Brooklyn Cyclones game. This time it was with work friends and we had a blast (especially once we figured out where the special bar was that served actual booze!)

September 4, 2012 - Pretty

Sunrise photo while en route from Denver to Dallas.

September 3, 2012 - Rocky Mountain Hi!

Instead of driving directly back to Denver from Longmont, CO, Tom and I took a much more extended & scenic route through Rocky Mountain National Park. The views were spectacular, and just experiencing the differences in altitudes as we stopped at scenic points along the way was really cool. Oh! And we drove past the hotel from "The Shining" - AWESOME!

September 2, 2012 - Monkeys at the Reception

After my cousin Michael's wedding, Ann & Jack went looking for something more exciting to do than plain old dancing. Luckily they found this awesome tree!

September 1, 2012 - Hmmm

I don't think the Walgreens in Brooklyn gives shots for shingles.

August 31, 2012 - Welcome to Denver

Tom and I flew to Denver en route to my cousin Michael's wedding. We had a late night arrival - this is from the little shuttle train that connected our gates to the main terminal.

August 30, 2012 - Busted!

I have no idea what was going on... I just snapped this as we drove by the scene.

August 29, 2012 - Subway Sign

Just a reminder that there are people in NYC who will help each other - hooray!

August 28, 2012 - Scrappy Wantz It!

I'm pretty sure I was eating pizza... Scrappy wanted to share.

August 27, 2012 - Hello, Mr. Squirrel!

Look who was waiting for me when I was getting ready to walk out the door!

August 26, 2012 - Lazy Dogs

August 25, 2012 - Sneaky 14

We've got a lot of ferral cats in the neighborhood and from time to time we spot them hanging out in our backyard. Here's one that was resting on the neighbor's back step. We call all of the cats that look like this one "Sneaky" because of the time one got into our basement for a couple days. We really have no idea if it's always the same cat or different ones, so at some point we just started referring to them as Sneaky 1, Sneaky 2, etc.

August 24, 2012 - Fidget (Again!)

Fidget is becoming a more regular visitor at the office & thinks we're best friends - he's very cute.

August 23, 2012 - Tom's Posse

August 22, 2012 - Skyline Volleyball

A group of us went for a run along Brooklyn Bridge Park and ended up having snacks at Bark Hot Dogs overlooking the volleyball courts at Pier 6. I definitely wanted to join in and play - what a great setting!

August 21, 2012 - Grand Army Plaza

I just happened to be walking by Grand Army Plaza and decided to take a picture of the arch - because it's so cool!

August 20, 2012 - Nurse Foxy

Usually Howard plays the role of nurse in this house - he's very good at finding boo-boos (like scrapes or bug bites) that need to be kissed - but Foxy decided she would help Daddy Tom this time.

August 19, 2012 - Pork Slope Wings

Another great Dale Talde restaurant - Pork Slope - is now open in Park Slope. Yum!

August 18, 2012 - Coney Island Dip

Another fun Saturday run with the team - this time we ended at Coney Island and a bunch of us jumped in the water afterwards to celebrate our longest run yet in the season.

August 17, 2012 - Tom's Goodbye Party

It was Tom's last day at SAG-AFTRA, so he invited a bunch of friends and folk from his office over to the house. This shot was from a little later in the evening when things were winding down - he wasn't holding court in the dining room like this the whole night!

August 16, 2012 - The SNL Hallway

I was at 30 Rock for a training seminar & took a detour through this fun hall of fame after visiting the office of someone I met in the class.

August 15, 2012 - Three Little Pugs

August 14, 2012 - Waitin' For the Bus

This was after a Team In Training practice in Red Hook. There were not a lot of other folk waiting next to the Brooklyn Ikea for a bus at 11pm on a Tuesday night.

August 13, 2012 - The Grey Dog

New favorite comfort lunch - turkey reuben and cheese fries at The Grey Dog cafe in soho.

August 12, 2012 - Good Uncles

My college friend Gail was in town with her family, so Tom and I joined them for a lovely Saturday walk through Central Park. We met up at the Columbus Circle mall and posed for this picture with Gail's daughter, Lauren, who was completely fascinated with the giant lady parts on the the giant lady statue (hee hee.)

August 11, 2012 - Summer Streets

For a few weekends each year, the city creates a traffic free route in Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge up to Central Park. It's pretty incredible, and I love that we took advantage of the opportunity as part of our training this season!

August 10, 2012 - A Special Love

August 9, 2012 - Howard In the Garden

August 8, 2012 - Oh, Hucky

August 7, 2012 - Scrappy Anniversary

I can't believe it has been a year since this little guy showed up in front of our house and became dog #4 in our family. It's already hard to remember life without him and I feel so lucky & thankful the way things have worked out.

August 6, 2012 - Subway Work

For over twenty years, there has not been a way to transfer between the "orange" subway lines and the uptown 6 train at the Broadway-Lafayette/Bleecker stops without actually leaving and reentering the station. It looks like that inconvenience will end soon!

August 5, 2012 - Rib Remains

Tom grilled ribs for us and they were DELICIOUS! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of them before we ate them - so this is all you get to see. (note: I also missed taking a picture of the little mishap related to said ribs falling off a platter onto the back of one of the dogs. No real harm done - after a wipe-off/re-saucing/re-grilling of the ribs, a wash of a very excited & sauce-covered dog, and a lot of laughing, dinner was served!)

August 4, 2012 - Stylin' Hilton Garden Inn Style

Tom and I drove up to the Nyack area for our friends Bob & Grant's wedding. It was completely beautiful & fun, but before we headed to the actual event we had a drink at our hotel - the Nanuet Hilton Garden Inn. This is a shot of the bar where a lovely woman named Joanne (I think) unlocked the cabinet to get us Jim Beam, let us control the remote to watch volleyball on the 'lympics, and gave us free, hot, cookies - along with a top off of my drink - while we waited for our ride to the ceremony.

August 3, 2012 - Fidget!

One of the new office dogs at DailyCandy is named Fidget... He's like a little black & white mop and is super cute!

August 2, 2012 - Sweet Scrappy

Those eyes. Those teeth. Sometimes I really can't take it.

August 1, 2012 - The Promenade

My niece Jennie is now a Brooklyn resident! Her mom (my cousin Kim,) is in town helping her get her new apartment cleaned & painted so I met up with them to see the place and get dinner. The apartment is in my old neighborhood, Brooklyn Heights, and is actually in the building where my friend Jim lived before he and I got our first apartment together, so it was lots of fun to walk around with them and point out places I used to frequent.

I introduced them to the Chip Shop on Atlantic for dinner (DELICIOUS!!) and then we walked around eventually making our way to The Promenade. Even after 20 years of living in NYC, it's still an incredible view and one of my favorite places to bring people.

July 31, 2012 - Zito's

Another workout night with Team in Training, another fun night at Zito's Sandwich Shoppe. These guys have been great to us - if you haven't already tried one of their fantastic sandwiches... Go!

July 30, 2012 - It's what it looks like

This is a photo of me falling asleep on the sofa after a big Mexican dinner and realizing I needed to take a picture for the day. ¡OlĂ©!

July 29, 2012 - 1WTC

I happened to be driving by the site of One World Trade Center and snapped this shot. I've seen it many times, and it already feels like an essential part of the skyline now.

July 28, 2012 - Scrappy-lympics

This is how Scrappy decided to watch the Olympics (or he might have just been dreaming about doing the backstroke.

July 27, 2012 - Howard!

I have no idea what he was looking at so intently, but that's our Howard

July 26, 2012 - Sunset and Suds (and Storm)

This is from just before running a 5K Team in Training fundraiser up in Riverside park. I guess it's an annual race named for the time of day (Sunset) and the draw (Suds aka free beer!) This year, however, we had the added bonus of some crazy weather (Storm) that was scheduled to hit right around the time of the event.

It turned out to be pretty intense. I managed to finish running just before the rain hit, but within about ten minutes is was absolutely pouring. I was standing in a tent structure set-up over an outside bar (unfortunately not where the free beer was,) and I ended up helping to hold it down from blowing away (while a lot of other people crouched under the bar.) After another ten minutes or so it let up enough for me to leave the tent and find the nice, dry, place where they were handing out beer. During my second beer, the rain had pretty much stopped, so I made my way to the train with a bunch of other Brooklyn folk and we grabbed some dinner when we got to Park Slope. All in all, a fun & very wet adventure!
